Can the overlay include our event branding or sponsor logos?+
Yes. All packages include a custom-branded overlay. Custom builds support full custom design including sponsor logos, event colours, and formal typography. We send a proof for approval before the event, typically within 24-48 hours of booking confirmation.
Will it work at a hotel ballroom or licensed venue?+
Yes. Akari is fully self-powered. No venue electricity or WiFi required. We coordinate with your venue in advance and can provide all necessary event insurance documentation. The robot is compact and operates quietly, which makes it suitable for all licensed event spaces.
Can it be paused during speeches or award presentations?+
Always. We run the operation in sync with your event schedule. We'll coordinate the run-of-show with you in advance and brief the operator on exactly when to pause. The robot will stay still and silent during any formal moment you want undisturbed.
How does digital delivery work for guests?+
At the moment of capture, guests enter their phone number or email on a touchscreen and receive their digital photo within seconds, before the robot has moved to the next table. They can post immediately, share with their table, or keep it for later. No app download required.
Is there a minimum or maximum guest count?+
No minimum. We've operated at intimate dinners of 30 and full-scale galas of 500+. At larger events, we advise on the right package duration to ensure full coverage. Get in touch with your headcount and we'll make a specific recommendation.
What does the post-event gallery include?+
Every photo from the night, in full resolution, delivered in a private online gallery within 48 hours of the event. Organisers can download the complete archive. For fundraising and charity events, this often becomes a valuable donor stewardship asset.
Is the piloted photobooth rental accessible for guests with mobility limitations?+
Yes. Because the robot comes to each guest at their seat, it is naturally inclusive for guests in wheelchairs, guests with limited mobility, and older or distinguished guests who would not queue at a corner photo booth. The entire event photography experience happens at table level: no standing, no walking to a separate area, no queue. For galas with a formal or senior attendee profile, this is particularly valuable.
How is guest contact information handled after the event?+
Phone numbers and email addresses collected at digital delivery are used solely to send the guest their photo. We do not store, sell, or market to guest contact information beyond that purpose. Contact data is removed from our systems after the post-event gallery delivery window closes. Our data practices comply with CASL and PIPEDA.
Can guests choose not to provide their contact details?+
Yes. Digital delivery is completely opt-in. Guests who prefer not to share their phone number or email simply take their instant print and move on. No data is collected from anyone who declines. The instant print is theirs regardless.
What is the print and photo quality like?+
Akari uses a 4K camera and professional dye-sublimation printing: the same standard used in high-end portrait studios. Prints are available in 2×6 or 4×6 format depending on your package. The output is not comparable to a thermal photo strip. Colour depth, sharpness, and durability are significantly higher, which is why guests keep and display them after the event.
What happens if there is a technical issue during the gala?+
Our operator is on-site for the full duration and resolves any technical issue immediately. We carry backup consumables for all events. In the rare case of a hardware failure that cannot be resolved on-site, we provide a full or partial refund proportional to lost coverage time. We have never had to end an event early due to a technical fault.
