• Information you provide directly: when you fill out our quote form or contact us. This may include your name, email address, phone number, event date, and event location.
• Information collected at events: when guests interact with the Akari robot, they may provide a phone number or email address to receive their digital photo. This information is used solely to deliver their photo and is not used for marketing purposes without explicit consent.
• Information collected automatically: basic analytics data (pages visited, browser type, referring URL) collected via standard web analytics tools to help us improve the site. This data is aggregated and not linked to individual identities.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to quote requests and inquiries
• Deliver digital photos to event guests
• Confirm and coordinate bookings
• Improve our website and services
• Send follow-up communications related to your event (not unsolicited marketing)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Sharing of Information

We may share your information with:

• Service providers: trusted third-party tools we use to operate our business (e.g., form processing, email delivery, payment processing). These providers are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.

Advertising & the Meta Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel (a tracking tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., which operates Facebook and Instagram) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to reach relevant audiences. The Pixel records actions on our website, such as viewing a page, viewing our packages, contacting us, or submitting a quote request, and reports them to Meta.

We also use Meta’s advanced matching feature. When you submit information through our quote form (such as your name, email address, or phone number), that information is irreversibly hashed on your device before it is sent to Meta. Hashing scrambles the data so that Meta cannot read the original values; it is used only to match your activity to an existing Facebook or Instagram account for more accurate ad measurement and remarketing. We do not send sensitive information such as financial, health, or government-ID data.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Quote request information is typically retained for up to 12 months. Guest photo delivery data is deleted within 90 days of the event.

Event Photography

At events we cover, our piloted photobooth captures candid photos of guests. With the event host’s permission, a selection of these photos may be published in our online gallery and used in our marketing.

If you appear in a photo on our website and would prefer it not be shown, email us at info@akaribooths.ca with details of the photo and we will remove it promptly.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal obligations
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
